Words and Music by Keith and Kristyn Getty & Stuart Townend

Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away,
Slain for us – and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross.
So we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King.

The body of our Saviour Jesus Christ,
Torn for you – eat and remember
The wounds that heal, the death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one.
So we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love
Around the table of the King.

The blood that cleanses every stain of sin,
Shed for you – drink and remember
He drained death’s cup that all may enter in
To receive the life of God.
So we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace
Around the table of the King.

And so with thankfulness and faith we rise
To respond, – and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth.
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim Christ will come again!
And we’ll join in the feast of heaven
Around the table of the King

A wonderful treatment of this hymn by William Cowper (1731-1800)

To see the Law by Christ fulfilled,
To hear His pardoning voice,
Changes a slave into a child
And duty into choice.

No strength of nature can suffice
To serve the Lord aright
And what she has, she misapplies,
For want of clearer light.

How long beneath the Law I lay
In bondage and distress
I toiled the precept to obey,
But toiled without success.

Then to abstain from outward sin
Was more than I could do
Now if I feel its power within
I feel I hate it too.

Then all my servile works were done,
A righteousness to raise
Now, freely chosen in the Son,
I freely choose His ways.

Gotta love this: Ocean’s Edge School of Worship, a ministry of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, is a 10-month full time discipleship and training institute for the next generation of worship leaders and musicians. “You Alone We Praise” was recorded with the Class of 2012. Visit their website for more information about the school.

This new release, Rushing Waters, by Dustin Smith is a very moving song. It’s the kind of “vertical song” I think serves the church well. Very big picture but also engendering a very congregational expression. You can get the chord chart here.

There is strength within the sorrow
There is beauty in our tears
You meet us in our mourning
With a love that casts out fear
You are working in our waiting
Sanctifying us
When beyond our understanding
You’re teaching us to trust

Your plans are still to prosper, You have not forgotten us
You’re with us in the fire and the flood
Faithful forever, perfect in love
You are sovereign over us

You are wisdom unimagined
Who could understand your ways
Reigning high above the heavens
Reaching down in endless grace
You’re the lifter of the lowly
Compassionate and kind
You surround and You uphold me
Your promises are my delight

Even what the enemy means for evil
You turn it for our good
You turn it for our good and for Your glory
Even in the valley You are faithful
You’re working for our good
You’re working for our good and for Your glory

Lyrics: Just One Drop
Jonathan David Helser

Just one drop of your blood, and my sins are gone
Just one thread of you robe, and I’m made whole
Just one glimpse of your face is all I dream of

Just one moment of your favor, is so much greater

You are the One who was, you are the One who is,
You are the One who will always love

Verse 2:
Just one word from your lips and the heavens were made
Just one touch of your hand and I am changed
Just one breath from your mouth and I come alive
Just one moment of your favor, is so much greater

No matter what my circumstances try to say
I will trust in you, I will lift my voice and I will
Say, “you are greatly to be praised”

Just one drop, and everything will change

This is Jesus

Light of life, eternal
In flesh and bones, descending
You walked upon the earth
The Creator
Humbled by creation
You kissed a world in mercy
Embraced us at the cross

Sing aloud the Saviour’s song
Come worship Him, come worship Him
Raise Your hands and shout His name
Christ Jesus, Christ Jesus

It is finished
A rugged cross stands empty
Death has been defeated
This world is not the same
Songs are rising
Awe and adoration
Fill our hearts with wonder
Endless praise is Yours

For nothing is higher
No one is greater
Nothing compares to You
